Mission Statement

K6LYC, the Amateur Radio wing of the Los Angeles Yacht Club, is a part of the long tradition of service to the wider community by LAYC. The “shack” is housed in the Club building, has an internal power system to support emergency operation, an array of seven antennas on the roof of the building, and like modern ham radio operations, connects to the Club’s Internet.  An array of radios support communications on the VHS marine band, 2 and 6 meters, and most all the ham frequencies, with an emphasis on HF marine.  Our radio group is a participant in the Los Angeles Emergency Network.  We welcome qualified visitors and encourage the use of the communications facilities at any time.  Please stop by and join us in the exciting world of ham radio. 73, W7QLI, President.
